- From patient examination, prescribe the three necessary points in space to define the optimal start position for mandibular advancement therapy and record these numbers on the dotMAD Rx form.
- Vertical Dimension – Select the 6, 8, 10 or 12mm sliding block for the desired inter-incisal dimension.
- Protrusion – Measure the full protrusive range of motion using the selected sliding block. The optimal position is commonly a percentage of the full range of motion adjusted for other pertinent findings.
- Excursion – Measure the lateral deviation of the mandibular dental midline from the maxillary dental midline at the determined protrusive and vertical start position, right or left in mm from the patients’ point of view.
- Pre-set the device to reflect these settings.
- Perform or delegate the registration procedure.
- Visually verify the target numbers. The tripod record will facilitate the bite scan.
- Intra-oral scanning with the bite in place is facilitated by this device. Send scans of models and bite registration to scans@comfortacrylics.com OR send impressions and bite registration to Comfort Acrylics, Inc. Laboratory at the address on the dotMAD Rx form.
